The Real Reason Phoebe Gore Is Leaving Her Aesthetic Manchester Apartment

Influencer Phoebe Gore (@pheebslfashion) shared on her instagram stories this week that she is leaving her super-aesthetic Manchester apartment – big news for those who have followed her life as a solo-girl living in the city.

Gore boasts a 438K following on Instagram and 314K following on Tik Tok

The question is, why would anyone living the cosmopolitan life in the city dream bring it to an end?

Money is the answer!

Phoebe shared that she wants to get on the property ladder and like many, it’s just too difficult to save for a house deposit whilst renting and navigating the current cost of living.  This is why Phoebe and her dog Dolly are moving back to her Mum and Dad’s house in York – so she can start to build up savings to buy her first home.

Now for some, a move home may be a step backwards for her aspirational interiors look – but fear not – because Phoebe’s mum is a considerable influencer herself – being Kirsty Gore of @kjg_home.  Kirsty has over 2M followers on Instagram herself and another 445K followers on tiktok.  By the looks of the latest Gore house project – Phoebe and Dolly will have plenty of space for aesthetic photo shoots in the new home once finished!

Bank of Mum and Dad?

Phoebe’s not the only one to need help from parents, whether it be a low rent or rent free period at home to save, a guarantee / joint mortgage or even a financial contribution towards a house purchase.

Gifts and loans from the Bank of Mum and Dad totalled £9.6 billion in 2024 according to Savills and 65% of new homeowners say they would have struggled to buy without parental support.

Whatever your means of pulling together a house deposit – it’s tough out there.  Whilst it may not be an option for some, moving home like Phoebe is just one option to help finally get on that ladder.
